Sales Network Team Building

Sales Team Building

La sfida di ogni organizzazione è l’eccellenza, la massima efficienza, la eliminazione o almeno il contenimento delle perdite di processo.

Team Building was created to meet this need: we bring together different people with the goal of making the group more homogeneous, compact, and cohesive, with a clear vision of company and individual objectives.

This type of experiential training might initially seem of little use for a traditional sales force distributed across the country. In fact, salespeople work alone, they are in the field, and their skill lies in moving around and being in the right place at the right time with the product/service the customer needs, at the right price.

It might therefore seem pointless to work on the group, on internal communication, on those skills necessary to share an objective with colleagues to achieve it together. We believe this statement has some foundation, but it is a somewhat outdated vision: the market demands professionalism, quality of service, and highly specialized expertise. Customers now know your products and those of the competition, they know the prices and evaluate every purchase with great attention—personal relationships are always fundamental but may not be enough.

This is where the importance of the group emerges, the need to share information, to collaborate, and to experience the company and colleagues as constant support to improve individual performance.

If I have had problems with a customer, it might be advantageous to send a colleague rather than persist in a shaky relationship, or if I realize I am not sufficiently prepared on a particular topic, why not call someone in the company who knows more than I do? There can be a thousand reasons why “the salesperson” might need support, and it will certainly be easier to get help from colleagues if we know them, if we have their cell phone numbers, if we know what they do and what they are most knowledgeable about.

A team building activity can help tremendously in this regard, and indeed Italian companies have understood this perfectly—we organize many team building events during sales force meetings.

Another aspect to highlight: in sales networks there is always a certain turnover of collaborators, whether due to the typically high number of people or the particular nature of the work, which is stressful and requires constant travel. Therefore, every year there are numerous changes, people joining and people leaving, which highlights the importance of keeping everyone informed, getting to know the new members, and also knowing who is no longer part of the group.
