Green Energy

An introduction to the key concepts of renewable energy and energetic sustainability opens the activity. The objective of the day is for every team to produce energy by entirely creating a prototype, made of collected material, that uses mechanical, solar, wind or hydroelectric power. It is then connected to a dynamo that transforms mechanical energy into electricity that is directly inserted in the chosen device. At the end of the building phase each team has about 2/5 minutes to produce as much power as possible, which will be measured. Who is going to find the most efficient solution to collect energy and win?

During the whole activity everyone is encouraged to consider the various aspects of sustainability and the environmental impact of the different energetic sources. Participants will be guided through the evaluation of advantages and challenges of each type of renewable energy production and will be motivated to find innovative solutions to maximize the efficiency. They will learn more about the latest energetic challenges and available technologies, understand better the importance of the journey towards a cleaner energy and the long term advantages for the environment and the community. Moreover, this kind of Team Building enhances the team feeling and cohesion. Working together to face a common cause like green energy production, inspires teamwork, active listening, lateral thinking and efficient communication.
