Medieval Cart Challenge is an original and competitive activity where participants design and build a medieval cart equipped with handcrafted siege tools. Teams compete on an obstacle course where creativity, coordination, and precision are essential. An engaging format that combines strategy, collaboration, and fun, stimulating problem solving and innovation in a compelling historical context.
Medieval Cart Challenge: a team building activity where participants become medieval engineers. Divided into teams of 8-10, they build a functioning cart equipped with siege weapons — handcrafted slings and crossbows — from raw materials (wood, ropes, wheels). The activity unfolds in four phases: briefing and design (20-30 min), cart construction with professional tools (40-60 min), obstacle course with target-shooting challenges (30-45 min), and debriefing with awards (15-20 min). Total duration: 1.5-3 hours. Suitable for indoor or outdoor settings. All materials and equipment are provided by our staff.
Medieval Cart Challenge is rated as an extremely high training value format (10/10). Key skills developed include: project management (planning, distributing tasks, and meeting deadlines with limited resources), strategic planning (choosing between investing in weapons or maneuverability), creative problem solving (raw materials and no detailed instructions), communication and coordination (role division between designers and builders), and distributed leadership (the project requires complementary skills). The format is ideal for teams that need to improve the ability to move from strategy to operational action. Our trainers conduct a structured debriefing connecting the dynamics to organizational behaviors.
