Gen Z and Team Building

Gen Z and team building

Between memes, emojis, and TikTok, Gen Z is also revolutionizing the way the office is experienced. They are the generation of digital natives—multitasking and hyper-connected, accustomed to rapid and continuous stimuli. But how does all this translate into the corporate world? And above all: how can team building adapt to truly engage those born after 1995?

First of all, a paradigm shift is needed: no more slow, rigidly structured activities or those based exclusively on frontal presentations. Gen Z seeks direct engagement, immersive experiences, and meaning. This is why formats that nod to social media are growing: game-show-style team quizzes, digital escape rooms, lightning challenges to be solved in groups, or creative formats where video, music, and storytelling become tools for participation.

Language matters too: irony, lightness, and pop references make the experience feel more familiar and authentic. The secret is finding a balance between fun and corporate objectives. A well-designed activity for Gen Z can improve collaboration, stimulate creativity, and strengthen the sense of belonging. But it must speak their language.

Another key element is the possibility of customization: young people want to feel like an active part of the experience, not just spectators. Modular formats, flexible roles, and moments for individual expression respond well to this need.

In summary, engaging Gen Z means thinking outside the box and accepting the challenge of change. New ideas, agile formats, and, above all, the ability to truly listen to those in front of you are required. Every generation is different, but none is impossible to motivate.
